Everest Panorama Trekking

Overview

Everest Panorama Trekking is especially designed as an easy and short trek in the Everest region. This trek is highly recommended for those who have limited time to do longer treks in the high mountains but do not want to miss the great views of Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world and Mt. Nuptse (7879m),  Mt. Lhotse (8501m), Mt. Amadablam (6856m) and Mt. Thamserku (6608m). This trek takes you to the maximum elevation of 3870 m. making the walk easier with least chances of having altitude sickness problem.

 

After a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu we land at Lukla’s tiny airstrip, and then our trek begins gently ascending the Dudh Kosi river bank to Namche Bazaar, Tyangboche and Khumjung village giving good insight into the Sherpa culture, traditional lifestyle. After Namche Bazaar you will visit to a sacred Tyangboche monastery (3867m) and enjoy up close view of Mt. Ama dablam. On the way you will stop by Sherpa villages, surrounded by fluttering prayer flags and looming snow-capped peaks overhead

During the Everest Panorama trek you will be accompanied by our experienced trekking guide and your belongings will be carried by our porters. You just need to carry your own light day pack during the trip. For the first time trekkers to Nepal this is a popular destination in the Everest region.

 

 

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft) & transfer to Hotel

Day 02: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2,800m/9184ft) & trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,698ft) (3-4 hrs)

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft) 5-6 hrs

Day 04: Rest and Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar

Day 05: Trek to Tengboche (3,870m/12,684ft) 6 hrs

Day 06: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3340m/11,283ft).) approx 5 hrs

Day 07: Trek to Monjo (2835m/ 9301ft) approx 3 hrs

Day 08: Trek to Lukla (2840m/ 9317ft ) approx 4/5 hrs

Day 09: Fly back Lukla to Kathmandu (39mins) and transfer to hotel

Day 10: Free day in Kathmandu

Day 11: Transfer to international airport for your final departure (Trip ends.)

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1300m/4265ft) & transfer to Hotel

 

Upon arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Today is simply an arrival day and there will be no any organized activities. So, you will have some free time to relax or walk around for local sights. A brief meeting will be held in the evening at hotel lobby. During the meeting you will be introduced with your trekking guide. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 02: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2,800m/9184ft) & trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,698ft) 3-4 hrs)

After early breakfast in hotel you will be transferred to the domestic airport to take the flight to Lukla.  It will be a 35 min scenic mountain flight. After arrival at Lukla you will tread on the legendary trail which heads through the alpine valley following the ‘Dudh Kosi River’. You reach Phakding after 3hrs walk and end the first day of your trek here. The rest of the day you will enjoy yourself strolling around Phakding. Overnight at lodge

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft) 5-6 hrs

Today you will gently make an uphill climb through the alpine valley crossing several steel cable suspension bridges tied up with brightly colored prayer flags fluttering over Dudhkoshi River on the way to Namche Bazaar. Namche is considered as the Sherpa -dominated largest settlement of the Khumbu region.  On a clear day you will enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Kusum Kangru, Kwangde and Taweche on the way to Namche Bazaar. Day 04: Rest and Acclimatization  in Namche Bazaar

In Namche Bazaar you will spend one extra day for acclimatization before heading to higher altitudes in the Khumbu region. Spending one day rest in Namche is mandatory for every trekker. It gives a good opportunity to rest, acclimatize and explore around the place.  Visit to Sherpa museum to know about the Sherpa culture and the  history of mountaineering is very interesting. If you are lucky, you can also visit a local marketplace on Saturday. Today you can also  make an excursion to the surrounding village of Khumjung, another Sherpa village to experience local culture, tradition and hospitality. This short excursion is designed to give you time to get used to high-altitude trekking. You will enjoy the first glimpse of the peak of world famous Mt. Everest, the highest mountain from Khumjung. Overnight at lodge

Day 05: Trek to Tengboche (3,870m/12,684ft) 6 hrs

After breakfast in Namche Bazaar you will begin third day of trekking towards the Khumbu region. The trail to Tengboche follows contour from Namche with mesmerizing views of the Himalayan Mountain range and many other peaks in the distance. The trail is more open and wide. We slowly descend to the Dudh Kosi River and stop for lunch at Phunki Tenga. After lunch we climb steeply through a beautiful rhododendron forest (blooms only in spring) for almost 2 hours and eventually reach Tengboche, the largest monastery in Khumbu. Here you will visit inside the  monastery and watch how the monks busy themselves   performing the Buddhist rituals.  Inside the monastery flash photography or filming is not allowed. Overnight at lodge

Day 06: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3340m/11,283ft).) approx 5 hrs

After getting up early and having a good breakfast you may make a small excursion up to Tengboche Ri (4,198m), a small peak which offers the best view of the Khumbu mountains before leaving Tengboche Village. The dirt trail is 610-meter steep  descent and zig-zagged back and forth all the way from  Tengboche  to Namche Bazaar. We will have our lunch in Namche bazaar and  take a rest .Overnight at lodge

Day 07: Trek to Monjo (2835m/ 9301ft) approx 3 hrs

After breakfast and packing up all your stuff we start our 3 hours trek to Monjo. You will walk through Sagarmartha National Park and and check-point following the river Dudh Kosi . On the way you will  cross many bridges, including the highest one  over the river. Monjo is a small village which lies  north of Phakding and south of Jorsale, at an altitude of 2,835 meters. Overnight at lodge

Day 08: Trek to Lukla (2840m/ 9317ft ) approx 4/5 hrs

The next morning we head for Lukla. In the end we spend more time descending this day. During this day we see many new groups on the trail heading out to Namche. At a teahouse at Lukla we will toast over a beer the incredible trip we just finished and spend some time reflecting over our experiences.

 

Day 09: Fly back Lukla to Kathmandu (39mins) and transfer to hotel

 

We pack up our luggage early and head for the airstrip to catch a flight back to Kathmandu .Upon arrival in Kathmandu the rest of your day is free to do your own things. You will be busy in some last minute shopping and packing, or send a few emails home or even go down for a stroll to Thamel. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 10Free day in Kathmandu

Today is a leisure and free day in Kathmandu for exploration. You are free to do some last minute souvenir shopping, spa and more exploration of the city, or extend your trip to include sightseeing, rafting, Everest mountain flight and bunjee jump. In the evening, you can enjoy nightlife in Thamel. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 11: Transfer to international airport for your final departure (Trip ends.)

It will be your last day in Nepal. After breakfast in hotel a representative from Himalayan Mantra will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled international flight.
